Virginia Pearl Pettaway accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with St. James Temple Baptist Church in Tarboro, N.C. She was employed by Carolina Enterprise as a factory worker until her health failed.
Virgina Pearl Pettaway departed this life on January 12, 2023, at ECU Health Medical Center. She was preceded in death by: Parents: William R. Pettaway and Charlotte D. Pettaway.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Children: Renota L. Pettaway of Greenville, NC and Derrick t. Pettaway of Tarboro, N.C.; Grandchild: Makayla B. Bristol of Greenville, N.C.; Sisters: Lousie Clark of Tarboro, N.C., Doris knight of Washington D.C., Helen Mayo of Tarboro, and Carolyn P. Jones of Tarboro; Brothers: Samuel Draughn and wife Lue Ann Draughn of Tarboro, and Thomas Pettaway of Tarboro; Special Godparents: Melvin and Mary Chance; and a host of nephew, nieces, cousin, other relatives, and friends.
