Tony Williams Obituary
Mr. Tony Leander Williams, Sr., 79, of Richmond, VA, formerly of Beaufort County, NC passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023.
Tony Leander Williams, Sr. left his earthly home on
November 27, 2023, at the VCU Medical Center in
Richmond, Virginia.
Born August 16, 1944, in Pantego, North Carolina. He
joined Macedonia Church of Christ at very early age
where he learned and love the Lord. He was educated in
the Beaufort County School System. Married at an early
age and from that union three children were bore. As
time went on, he left Pantego and moved to New Jersey
to pursue a higher work career. Tony worked for 30 years
at Lindemen Buick Car Dealership as an Technician
until his retirement. He also joined the Good Sheppard
Church of Christ in New Jersey where he diligently
attended and worked to keep it clean and safe.
Tony was proceeded in death by his father, Paul Williams,
Jr.; mother, Lorena Hoyle Williams; two brothers,
Bryant Williams and William Hoyle; two sisters, Murtis
Garnett and Bettie McCloud; two sister- in-laws, Diane
Smith and Peggie Hoyle; and one brother-in-law, Jessie
Marble.
Tony leaves to cherish his memories: his beloved
wife of the home, Josephine Keene Williams; four
children, Melvin Davis, Tony L. Williams, Jr. and
Wanda Williams all of Newark, New Jersey, and Paul
Williams III, of Atlantic, Georgia; two sisters, Annie
Boomer (Lindsay) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland and
Wanda Dudley of Washington, DC; his mother-in-law,
Mary B. Dendy of Richmond, Virginia; two brothers-
in-law, Wilbert McCloud of Pantego, North Carolina
and Sidney Marble (Devern) Richmond, Virginia; one
sister-in-law, Emma Johnson of Richmond Virginia; 18
grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-
great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
other relatives, and friends.
