Mr. Stephen Dixon of Greenville, N.C. entered into eternal rest on August 23, 2023.
Stephen Dixon was born in Greenville, North Carolina on September 29th, 1956, to the late Edward Dixon and Ethel Lee Ward Dixon. He departed this life on Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023 at ECU Health Medical Center.
Stephen grew up in Greenville, North Carolina (over the hill) until his family moved to the country. He attended W. H. Robinson Elementary School, A.G. Cox Middle School, and D.H. Conley High School. He was made to attend church as a child, but the decision to surrender his heart to God was made later by Steve. He was a skilled worker and specialized in carpentry and roofing. He was a master with laying roof shingles. Steve enjoyed fishing, watching westerns on television, and playing pool. He enjoyed spending time with his family and sharing good laughs. He rarely ever argued. One of his favorite saying is “you talking out your nose cause your mouth know better.”
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Joe Henry, James Dixon; Willie Watson; and Wilbert Ray Dixon, and his two sisters; Carolyn Jean and Ethel Mae Dixon.
He leaves to cherish his memories 3 daughters; Christine Mewborn of Greenville, NC; Shannita N. Clark of Kileen, TX; and Kimberly Hughes (Derrance) of Greenville, NC. Steve has five grandchildren: Derrance Hughes, Jr; Marquise Mewborn (Jykevia); Onterikah Mewborn; Tasia Perkins; and Brihanna Perkins. His two great children are Khalessia Mewborn and Emerald Mewborn.
He also leaves six sisters: Linda Richardson (Walter); Annie Dickens (Gary); Cardonia Dixon; Alice Dixon; Mary Bridges (Paul); Sophia Crandell; Melissa Freeman (Terry), five brothers: Jimmie Dixon; Mark Dixon (Barbara); Curtis Dixon (Jackie); Lester Dixon (Hattie); John Paul Dixon, two special friends: Darrel Perkins and Ronnie White; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heavenly Arms Family Mortuary & Cremation Services, 8482 E. Marlboro Rd. Suite G, Farmville, N.C.
