Mr. Robert Lee Harris of Grimesland, N.C. entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2022.
Robert Lee “Bim” Harris was born on March 28, 1957, to the union of Ada Goal Joyner Harris and John WesleyHarris in Greenville, NC. He departed this life on January 5, 2022.
Robert Harris received his formal education in the Pitt County School System. He graduated from G.R. Whitfield Elementary School in Grimesland, NC and DH Conley High School in Greenville, NC.
Robert Harris accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was united with Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon over the kitchen committee, chairmen of men’s conference, chairmen over deacons and deaconess, assistant and chairperson of the youth department, and assisted with church transportation.
Robert Harris was a man of many talents. He was no stranger to hard work. He worked at Goodyear, Whites Tires, and Tripp’s Tires of Ayden as a Tire Technician. After his retirement he held many positions in Washington, NC.
In his leisure he enjoyed any and everything dealing with his church. He also enjoyed watching sports such as basketball and grilling. He liked the Carolina Tarheels.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ada Goal Joyner Harris and John Wesley Harris; sisters, Mary Harris and Shirley Ward; and brother Fred DouglasHarris.
Robert Harris leaves to cherish his memories: fiancée, Gwendolyn Smith; children, Rodney Harris and Rashad Mason; grandchild, Evan Harris; sisters and brothers: Ruby Harris of Greenville, NC, Carolyn Harris of Grimesland, NC, Joyce Morris (Ronnie) of Greenville, NC, Annie Conners, Wesley Harris of Grimesland, NC, Bobby Harris, James Harris (Thetus) of Greenville, NC, and Al Vines of Greenville, NC; close friends, Pastor Ubzell Smith and Deacon Williams; special friends: Billy Dawson, Terry (Boo Boo) Hamilton, and Charlie Keyes; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
