Mr. Reuben Levi Wilkins Ayden, N.C. entered into eternal rest on August 28, 2023.
Reuben Levi Wilkins was born on February 29, 1948, to the union of Colden Willard Wilkins, Sr., and Kamilla Bishop in Roxobell, North Carolina.
Reuben received his formal education in the schools of Bertie County in North Carolina.
Reuben accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Sandy Branch Baptist Church in Roxobell, North Carolina.
Reuben was united in holy matrimony to Carol Denise Braxton on February 25, 2008, in Greenville, North Carolina. Their union was blessed with one son who preceded him in death.
He was concurrently employed by Westfield Realty and the Arlington County Public Schools district as a maintenance engineer for over twenty years until his retirement.
Reuben Levi Wilkins departed this life on August 28, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kamilla Agnes Bishop; father, Colden Willard Wilkins; first wife, Shirley Ann Cox Wilkins; daughter, Tammy Yvonne Wilkins; son, David Reuben Wilkins; three sisters, Mackseen W. Paige, Phyllis Keemer, and Betty W. Swain; and two brothers, Carrol Wilkins and Lonnie Wilkins.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Carol D. Braxton Wilkins; four daughters, Lori Mercado (Ramiro), Katina Wilkins, Katinia Jackson (Michael), and Shaunte Duckett (Dameon); four sons, Reuben Steven Wilkins, Rodney Wilkins, Cory Wilkins, and Timothy Powell; siblings, Esther W. Norman, Colden Willard Wilkins II (Lois), Leslie Wilkins (Betty), and Anthony Lynn Wilkins; sister-in-law, Reverend Dr. Claudette Braxton; grandchildren, Stephanie Wilkins, Brandon Wilkins, Terrell Cole, Tierra Cole, Micah Powell, Keelee Powell, Logan Wilkins, Emanuelle Mercado, Gabrielle Mercado, Mia’ Jackson, and Denikwa Jackson; great-grandchildren, Savannah Wilkins and Jarvis Carr IV; and a host of other relatives and friends.
