Rebecca Keech Spruill

Mrs. Rebecca K. Spruill of Pantego, N.C. entered into eternal rest on February 21, 2022.

Psalm 27:1

Rebecca Keech “Fing” Spruill was born on October 21, 1949, to the union of the late George “Fellow” Slade and Catherine Keech Jennette in Belhaven, N.C.

Rebecca Keech Spruill received her formal education as Belhaven School System in Belhaven, N.C. She furthered her education at Norfolk State. She also attended BCCC and MCCC.

 Rebecca Keech Spruill accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age where she united Holly Grove COC and later joined Gateway Church of Christ, under the leadership of Bishop Allen E. Brooks, where she served as the Financial Secretary, Youth Leader, and the Senior choir for many years.

Rebecca Keech Spruill was united in holy matrimony with James T. Spruill on January 5, 1973, in Terra Ceia, N.C. Their union was blessed with 3 Children.

She was employed by Terra Ceia Flower Farm and Gibbs Electric as a secretary until her health failed.

Rebecca Keech Spruill was preceded in death by her father: George Slade; Brother: Willie Windley; Sister Janine Jennette; Stepfather: Matthew Jennette Sr.; Mother-in-Law: Rebecca Spruill.

She leaves to cherish her Husband: Deacon James T. Spruill of the home; One child: Elder Kimberly Keech of Washington, N.C.; Two daughter in kind Shebreeka Matthews of Hephzibah, GA, Tyeshia Roberts of Greenville, N.C.; Mother:  Catherine Jennette of Belhaven, N.C.; Grandchildren: Malik Thompson of Washington, N.C. Kimaja Spencer of Greensboro, N.C., Kimarie Spencer of Washington., Destini Spencer of Washington, N.C., Kielyke Matthews of Norfolk, VA, Sheyvion Matthews of Hephzibah, GA; 2 Great Grandchildren: Endia Jones of Greenville N.C., Adalyn Rose Chase of Chocowinity, N.C. 2 brothers: Matthew Jennette Jr. (Angelica) of Fayetteville, N.C., George Slade Jr. of Florida; 3 Sisters: Angela Goggins, Delina Slade of Floridia, Angela Jennette of Belhaven, N.C.; Special Cousin: Rena Moore of Brooklyn, NY; 2 Brother in Law: William Spruill of Belhaven, N.C., Gary Gibbs (Doris) of Pantego, N.C.; Sister-in-law: Rachel Windley of Bridgeton, N.C.;2  aunts: Catherine Dixon(John) of Brooklyn, N.Y., Maggie Knight of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two uncle: Zebulon Vance (Barbara) of Pantego, N.C., Jimmy Slade (Clara) of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
