“Scilla”
Psalm 91:1
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”
Priscilla, also affectionately known by her family and friends as “Scilla,” was born in Wilson NC on September 5, 1971, to Maggie Bell McCoy and the late Napoleon Speight. She transitioned at her home on September 28, 2022, while surrounded by some of her close loved ones.
Priscilla is preceded in death by her husband Douglas Ray Harris, her father Napoleon Speight and her brother Nathaniel Speight.
Priscilla Harris attended Greene County Schools and later did some farming work where she met her late husband, Douglas. She pursued other careers until finally she decided to stay home and care for her children. Knowing God was an ever-present help in her life, Priscilla joined Salvation & Praise Full Gospel Church under the leadership of Apostle Ed Thomas Edwards. She added to the ministry through singing, dancing and cooking. Anyone who knew her well would admit that she had the purest heart and never held a grudge and was always forgiving of family and friends. She was the sweetest person who would help anyone if she could. In February of 2019 her health begs to decline when Priscilla was diagnosed with kidney failure; however, she kept the faith by reminding herself and others that God was STILL in charge. She would say. “Yes, yea I’m fighting but really it’s the Lord that’s winning every battle for me” and she would never doubt Him.
Priscilla leaves to cherish her memory and her faith: one son, Douglas Harris Jr. of the home; 4 daughters: Sierra Harris of Farmville, NC; Laguania Harris of the home; Shanika McCoy of Farmville, NC and Bianca Harris of the home; 2 stepsons, Corey DeBerry of Greenville, NC and Clifton Wooten of Pinetops, NC; 9 Grandchildren. Her mother Maggie McCoy of Snow Hill, NC; 2 sisters Judy (Willie) Joyner of Snow Hill, NC; Charlene King of Farmville, NC; three nephews Hollande (Diane) Joyner of Grifton, NC; Jamario Joyner of Raleigh, NC; Jeremiah Daniels of Farmville, NC; Her companion Johnny Croom and a host of other relatives and friends.
“When this life is over, we shall wear a crown.”
