Ms. Sarah Spencer of Washington, N.C. entered into eternal rest on November 9,2020 at Vidant Medical Center.
Sarah Ann Spencer was born on October 23, 1949, to Freeman and Amey Spencer in Pantego, North Carolina. Sarah departed this life on November 9, 2020, at Vidant Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Freeman and Amey Spencer; her son, Neal Spencer; two brothers, William Barrow and James Spencer; and two sisters, Mamie Whitney and Vernice Downing.
Sarah Ann Spencer received her formal education in the Beaufort County School System. After relocating to Yonkers, New York, she obtained her High School GED. She continued her education in the healthcare industry and became a Nursing Assistant.
After retiring in 2012, Sarah moved home from New York. She enjoyed working with flowers, loved to help others, loved to serve and loved to shop!! She was always a sharp dresser with everything matching. She was a Fashionista!!! Everybody knows her favorite pastime was playing the LOTTERY!!
Sarah leaves to cherish her memories: her loving lifetime companion, Richard Dillon of the home; one granddaughter, Tania T. Jackson of Yonkers, New York; three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; her siblings: Charlotte Whitney of Yonkers, New York, Roosevelt Spencer (Lou), Annie Bell (Lewis), Ella Channel of Maryland, Preston Spencer (Arthelia), Freeman Spencer (Lynn) and Bishop Eddie Smith (Helena); two dogs, Brownie and Rocky, who she loved dearly; and a host of other relatives and friends.
