Ms. Lora Grimes of Washington N.C. entered into eternal rest on September 29,2020.
Lora Ann Grimes, affectionately known as “Boot,” was born in the winter on February 24, 1961, in Washington, North Carolina, to Edward Lee Grimes and Phrocine Grimes. What a blessing her birth was!
She entered into her rest on September 29, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Lee Grimes, and brother, Ricky Price.
Lora attended P.S. Jones Elementary School until integration. She graduated from Washington High School Class of 1979. Shefurthered her studies at Beaufort Community College.
Lora was gainfully employed at National Spinning Company. She worked other jobs until her health started failing.
Lora was the life of the party with her infectious laugh. She always knew how to make everyone laugh and smile.
But that is not where the story ends. About ten years ago, “Boot” dedicated her life to God and became a member of “The House of Prayer” here in Washington. Around this same time, she became sick, but did not allow her sickness to hinder her.
“Boot” actually used her sickness as a testimony about the power of God. She would praise God and
give life-giving sound advice to many that needed to hear it.
However, as her work began for God, so did her medical complications. Ten years of complications with heart disease did not stop her from serving and praising God.
She always kept family first as family meant the most to her. Her children and grandchildren were her world.
Lora leaves to cherish her memory and sorrow in her passing: her loving mother Mrs. Phrocine Price Grimes; one daughter, Cynthia Grimes; two sons, Deronte Grimes and Ronald Bullock; two sisters, Diane Bobo and Dorothy Whitaker; one brother, Edward Grimes; a loving aunt, Mrs. Geraldine McCullough, along with her children, whom Lora considered her siblings: William H. Price, Alton G. Ward, Karl Ward, Paul McCullough and Pastor Paula J. McCullough. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends – including a special friend, Ann Weston.
