Ms. Deloris Brown of Washington, N.C. entered into eternal rest on March 15, 2021 at 7:02 p.m. at Vidant Inpatient Hospice.
Deloris Marie “Cookie” Teel Brown was born on April 15, 1960, to the union of Leroy Teele and Anna Burgess Teele in Washington, NC. She departed this life on March 15, 2021.
“Cookie” was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy Teele and Anna Burgess Teele; grandmother, Pauline Cotton; grandfather, Frank Burgess, Jr.; great-aunt, AliceMcIver; and great-grandmother, Argusta Lodge White.
Deloris “Cookie” received her formal education in Philadelphia, PA, and continued her education in Washington, NC.
Deloris “Cookie” accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and joined St. Luke Church.
“Cookie” was united in holy matrimony to Riley Brown, Jr. in February of 1994 in Washington, NC.
“Cookie” was employed by the Beaufort County Schools as a School Bus Driver for over 15 years. She was able to plant fruitful seeds in the lives of many children.
In her leisure time, her passions were researching her family history and spending time with her grandkids.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her spouse, Riley Brown, Jr. of Washington, NC; her children: Ty Teele of New Jersey, Derrick Teele of Virginia Beach, VA, and Victoria “Vicki” Teele of Washington, NC; her grandchildren: Tyshawn, Tiarra, Tasia, Tyler, Nalaundra, Ty-Jael, Valencia, Ashiyah, Derrick, Jr., TyNaisa, Jacleen, KiToria, and Miracle; her grandmother, Catherine Rodgers and great-aunt, Shirley Stewart (Roy), both of Virginia Beach, VA; six great-grandchildren; six aunts, six uncles, two favorite cousins, Lita and Ralph Griffin; and a host of cousins, friends and Godkids; and a special friend, Mel Bailey.
