Ms. Annie Waters of Washington, N.C. entered into eternal rest on February 15,2021 at home surrounded by family.
“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body,
and to be present with the Lord.” – II Cor. 5:8
Annie Windley “Duck” Waters was born on March 18, 1941, to Grace Windley Sumpter and Hugh Ebron in Bath, NC. She departed this life on February 15, 2021.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Raleigh H. Waters; her mother, Grace Windley Sumpter; her father, Hugh Ebron; her son, Ronnie Waters; her son-in-law, Harvey M. Farrow, Jr.; her sister, Hattie Raphae; and her nephew James Cradle.
Annie accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with Christian Chapel.
Annie was united in holy matrimony to Raleigh Watersand employed by “The Cleaners” until her retirement.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed shopping, cooking, fashion, flowers, spending time with family – especially her grandchildren – walking, being outdoors and riding around with family and friends.
“Duck” was talkative, friendly, never met a stranger. Her smile was contagious! Always fashionably dressed, she was very classy and didn’t mind telling you like it was. She was loving and caring. She always wanted to make sure everyone else was okay. She would always say, “Pray and call on Jesus.”
She is survived by her children: Debonda Letterman (Bobby), Lucille Waters, Clarence Waters, Monnette Brown, Jane Harding (Donald), Alisa Farrow, Gina Reaser (Josh); her grandchildren: Ebony Greene (Irving), Tisheema Waters, Rasheeda Waters, Katrice Waters, Iaan Farrow (Tiffany), Anaia Farrow, Carla Brown, Nicholas Fantuzzi, Harvey Farrow III, Le’Anna Farrow, Amy Reaser; her great-grandchildren: Christian, Tysheed, Rayshaun, Tyshaun, Avianna, Nevaeh, Kamari, Tyius, Amouur; her stepfather, Jesse Sumpter; her brother, Warren E. Cradle; one special sister-in-law, Edna Waters, The Ebron Family (special cousins aka “Gladys Kids); a special family friend, Perry Moore; best friend, Rosa Windley family; brother-in-law, Vernon Waters (Thelma); special nephews: Shawn, Robert, Leonard (Mayra), Tyrese, Antwan, Leon, Isaiah; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
