Mrs. Ruby Moore O’Neal of Belhaven, N.C. entered into eternal rest on December 12, 2021.
Ruby Lee O’Neal was born March 19,1953 to the union of Julia Mae Cutler and Byrant Moore Jr., in Washington, N.C.
Ruby O’Neal received her formal education at Belhaven High School in Belhaven, N.C. She furthered her education at Beaufort Tech Community College in Washington, N.C. where she received Associate’s Degree in Business Administration.
Sis. Ruby accepted Christ as her Savior in the 70’s and served faithfully at Hoggard’s Temple before transferring with her husband to attend Mount Olive Pentecostal Faith Church under the leadership of Elder Bertha Henderson. There she served as an evangelist, treasurer, and lead vocalist. She was known for the songs, “When I See Jesus, Amen”, “Lord I Praise Your Name”, and “I Really Love the Lord”. In her later years, James and Ruby decided to attend St. Stephens Community Church where she served as a minister of the gospel.
Ruby Cutler was united in holy matrimony with James O’Neal (BJ) on February 12, 1983, in Belhaven N.C. They were blessed with 6 children; Montie, James Jr, Christopher, Danyell, Derek and Sonya.
Ruby has held several leadership positions throughout her career. Her last employment was with Belhaven Square as a Property Manager for 6 years before retiring. In her leisure, she enjoyed reading, singing, music, movies, laughter, collecting coins, and watching some of her favorite preachers.
Ruby Lee O’Neal was preceded in death by her mother Julia Clark, her father Bryant Moore, and her brother Harold Moore.
Ruby Lee O’Neal leaves to cherish her memory her spouse: James E. O’Neal, Sr.; children: Montie Cutler (Dana), James O’Neal, Christopher O’Neal, DanyellHicks, & Sonya Brewington, and Derek Burrus through marriage. Grandchildren: Fluquon, Shaniqua, Chanel, Sherrod, Dairon, Maleek, Ashton, TaCori, Madisyn, Christian, Kade, Darrin, Tara, and Taylor; Sisters and brothers: Henry Moore (Sally), Ronnie Cutler, Milton Moore, James Cutler, Fredrick Moore, Lane Moore, Cynthia Edwards, Anita Silvers, Sheila Silvers, Jennifer Spencer, Tammy Grimes, and Marcus Spencer; Aunts: Maxine Jones, Joyce Moore; One uncle: Therman Moore, a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, great grandchildren, friends, Spiritual brothers and sisters.
