Mrs. Rosa Marie Windley Whitney of Washington N.C. entered into eternal rest on September 6,2020.
Rosa Marie Whitney “Bea” was born June 27, 1967 to Mary Elizabeth “Nunny” Windley and Mack Green in Washington, N.C.
Marie was preceded in death by: her father, Mack Green, mother, Mary Elizabeth Windley, brother, Sammy James Windley, nephew, Vinton Wayne Windley and brother-in-law, Dwayne “Trick” Whitney.
She completed her formal education at Bath High School in Bath, N.C. She furthered her education at Beaufort Community College in Washington, N.C.
Marie accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Mt. Olive Pentecostal Faith Church, where she served as the Choir Director and faithful member.
Marie Whitney was united in holy matrimony to Arnell Whitney, Jr. on December 25, 1992, in Teria Ciea, N.C. Their union was blessed with five children.
Marie was a Preschool Teacher at TotsLand Preschool for fifteen years. She loved children!!!
Throughout life, she enjoyed music, dancing, singing, shopping, laughing, traveling, sporting events, teaching life lessons and was a BONUS MOM to many! The love of going to Church was her JOY!
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Arnell Whitney, Jr; her children: DeWayne Windley (Patricia), Ta’Wanna Windley-Bryant (Stephen), Shavar Hakeem Clark, Latisha Washington and Genevia Windley Hill (James); her grandchildren: DaQaesia Windley, Na’dya Windley, Zaria Windley, DeWayne Windley, Antonio Bryant, Michael Butler and RaKita Faison (Michael); her brothers and sisters: Annie E. Roberson (Phillip), Danny M. Windley (Tilda), Julian L. Windley (Shelia), Annie Bell Griffin (Sonny), Darling Burrus, Maxine Lawrence, Vernell Whitney and Terrance Whitney. She held a special place in heart for her in-laws: Arnell Whitney, Sr. and Elder Verna Whitney; her Goddaughters: Sheila Moore, Shawanna Spencer and Mary Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Noah and Naomi Faison; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
