Rosa was an assistant principal at Davis School and retired after 37 years of working with students, co-workers, principals and superintendents. After her retirement, she anticipated a time for leisure reading, traveling and renewing old friendships.

Rosa stated, “Thirty-seven years of helping others is quite fulfilling, yet a special thanks must go to the people of the Davis School Community where 20 of her teaching years were spent.”

In her leisure time, she enjoyed Word Search puzzles, going to watch Aaron play ball at Roanoke High School. She also was a member ofthe N.C. Teachers Association.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Avron Oden and daughter-in-law, Vonda Oden; one daughter, Devora Frances of Newark, NJ; her grandchildren: Avron Jamie Oden, Aaron Oden, Redmon Blount, Sarah Lee, Gladys Blount and Marilyn Blount; three sisters and three brothers; a special niece, Barbara Rodman; a special nephew, James Lee Oden; and a cousin, Talmon Griffin.
