Mrs. Lula Mae Cox

Mrs. Lula Mae Cox of Washington, N.C. entered into eternal rest on October 20,2021 at her home, surrounded by family.

Lula Mae Pearson was born on November 24, 1954, to the union of Clara Mae Pearson and Lee Floyd Pearsonin Alliance, NC. She departed this life on October 20, 2021.

Lula Mae Pearson received her formal education in the Pamlico County School System in Bayboro, NC. She furthered her education at Partners-N-Care Vocational School in New York, NY.

Lula Mae Cox accepted Christ at the early age of thirteen and was united with House of Prayer where she served in the Mass Choir.

Lula Mae Pearson was united in holy matrimony with Lee D. Jones on July 7, 2002, in Washington, NC.

She was employed with Cox Direct, Hamilton Beach as a Line Technician, and  Partners-N-Care as a Home Health Aide – Hospice Care for ten years.

In her leisure, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing spades, shopping the jewelry channel, and watching HGTV.

She was preceded in death by: mother, Clara Byrd; father, Lee Floyd Pearson; sister, Alice Marie Stone; and son, Christopher Santiago Pearson.

She leaves to cherish her memories: spouse, Lee Drew Jones; children: Clara Cannon (David), Aunita Pearson-Clayton (Marcus), and Andre Agustus Cox (Reeba); grandchildren: Ebony Scott, Alexius Pearson, Julius Cannon, Kristina Smith, Eja Arthur, Christopher Santiago Worthington, Desi My Love Worthington;brother, Willie Lee Pearson; sisters-in-law: Virginia, Gloria, Sheila, and April; brothers-in-law: Gene Godley (Linda), William, and Robert; Goddaughter, Teresa House (Alton), Dale Gibbs; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
