Mrs. Barbara Sutton Sneed

Mrs. Barbara Sutton Sneed of Washington, N.C. entered into eternal rest on August 27,2021.

Barbara Ann Sutton Sneed peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday August 27, 2021.  She was born May 22, 1947, daughter of the late Charlotte Sutton and Roland Gorham in Washington N.C. Barbara Ann received her primary education in Washington’s public schools and graduated from P.S. Jones High School.

During Barbara Ann’s High School years, she participated in many activities such as Cheerleader, Majorette, and school choir. She joined Evergreen Holiness Church at an early age and later in life was a faithful member of St Johns Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and other church activities.

In 1971, she married Vance Sneed Sr. and spent a three-year honeymoon in Maiez Germany with their daughter Constance. Vance Jr. was also born during that time.  While in Germany Barbara was active with the military and assisted her soldier husband with NEO evacuations and many military events. She enjoyed preparing formal dinners and entertaining guests and especially family. She was a gracious and giving host.  

She returned to Washington NC and was employed by Hamilton Beach and Vidant Hospital and lovingly raised her children. She was a humble servant of God and served her church, family, and friends. 

Barbara Ann loved to read, watch tv and watch sportsnoshing on her favorite sweets or chewing on her favorite Juicy fruit gum. She was loving and giving to many friends and acquaintances, she met; and in our hearts she’ll go right on living.  We thank God she touched our lives and have no regrets.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Vance Sneed Sr., daughter Constance Sutton, Son Vance Sneed Jr. (Amelia), Grandchildren – Rudolph Sutton, Dontrez’Sneed, Shameecka Keyes, Shaquanna Rogers, Euneeka Dudley, Eureeka Dudley, D’Dondra Sneed, Ratreveyia Mustipher, Genisis Gibbs, Era’Kana Burnett and Five great grandchildren, Brothers Kenneth Sutton, Lyle Sutton, Sisters- Jakarta Gorham Robinson (Keith)of New Jersey, Zerah Gorham Cherry (Norman) of Georgia, Nadia Gorham Daniels (Gordon), Ozelina Gorham Johnson (Larry)of Georgia, along with a host of relatives and friends.
