Mr. William “SLEEPY” “BUDDY” Carmon Sr. Obituary

Mr. William “SLEEPY” “BUDDY” Odell Carmon of Greenville, N.C. entered into eternal rest on February 6,2021 surrounded by family.

William “Sleepy/Buddy” Odell Carmon, Sr. was born on September 19, 1936, to Robert Lee and Evangelene Carmon in Greenville, NC. He departed this life on February 6, 2021.

William received his formal education at W. H. Robinson Union High School in Winterville, NC. He furthered his education at Pitt Community College, Winterville, where he received an AssociatesDegree.

William was a faithful member of Warren Chapel UAFWB Church where he served in the following capacities: President of the Youth Choir, President of the Youth Department, Financial Secretary and as a Deacon until his health failed.

“Sleepy/Buddy” Carmon was united in holy matrimony to Annie Juanita Evans on August 1, 1955, in Greenville, NC. Their union was blessed with four sons.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force on June 12, 1955, andwas honorably discharged in September of 1968.

Over the years, he worked for Eveready Battery and Pitt County Schools, but his passion was being an entrepreneur – owning and operating several businesses: Farming, Neighborhood Store Owner, and the proud owner of Carmon’s “You Call We Haul” Firewood Service. He was a jack of all trades and master of many! During his hog farming years, he was known to make some of the best sausage in the county and nobody could cook a hog like “Buddy” Carmon!
