Mr. William “Bill” Russell White Jr.

Mr. William Russell White of Greenville N.C. entered into eternal rest on August 13,2020 at Vidant Medical Center. 
 

William “Bill” Russell White, Jr. was born on October 23, 1944 to the union of William Russell White, Sr. and Eloise Evans Brister in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Russell White, Sr., his mother Eloise Evans Brister and a loving daughter, Evangelist Contessa Phillips.

He received his formal education in the New York Public School System.

“Bill enlisted in the United States Army on November 15, 1965. He was honorably discharged on October 26, 1967. After his discharge, he was employed by the United States Postal Service where he retired.

“Bill” was spiritually united with Reimage Church of Winterville, North Carolina.

“Bill” held a black belt in Karate. Other than loving others and being a mentor and father to many, this was his main hobby and made his heart smile.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: a niece who he was like a father to, Pleshette Marshall, a nephew, Curtis Marshall (Latisha); and Billy Gurganus, Michelle Gurganus and Jennifer Gurganus; a devoted and beloved granddaughter, MarquittiWhite; one grandson, Marquail White; and Taylor, Samantha, Jasmine, Nautica, Kevin, Destany, Derrick, Keyon and Jeremiah. 

“Bill” was a Godfather, father figure and grandfather to several. A special mention of Michelle, Amanda and Chrissy, all of Greenville N.C., and Benita White of Florida.
