Mr. Poindexter Murray

Mr.Poindexter Murray of Bayboro,N.C. Entered into eternal rest on February 1,2021 at Carolina East Medical Center.

Poindexter Murray, Sr. was born on March 4, 1956, to Doris Murray in Washington, NC. He departed this life on February 1, 2021. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shelia M. Gibson, his father George H. Marshall and his sister, Jackie Marshall.

Poindexter received his formal education at Aurora High School in Aurora, NC. Later, he became a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church.

He was united in holy matrimony with Sheila Gibson on October 5, 1999, in Washington, NC. This union was blessed with one child.

Poindexter was a small business owner, Murray & Sons Home Improvement, where he was a carpenter for most of his adult life. He took pride in being self-employed.

In his leisure time, Poindexter enjoyed playing pool and living life to its fullest.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Doris Murray and his children: Poindexter Murray Jr., Lamont L. Murray, Courielo Murray, Shebbra Murray and Nijee Murray; his grandchildren: Daniesha Murray, Infinity Murray, Corey Wilson, Nylaa Tutt Lamont L. Murray Jr. Cameron Moore, Dyneefu Mohammed, Onaje Mohammed,  Obadias Mohammed, and four Great Grandchildren; his siblings, Randy Murray, Helen Robinson, Velma Hamilton and Jerry Marshall; two aunts, Zelda Stilley and Wanza Dudley; an uncle, Joseph Minor; his longtime companion and friend, Katrina Hopkins and daughter, Jennifer Hopkins; close cousins, David E. Stilley, Jr and Carlton Earl Minor; loving nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
