Mr. Mikel B. McCloud Sr. of Belhaven, N.C. entered into eternal rest on November 15, 2021 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice.
Mikel Bernard McCloud, Sr. was born on August 29, 1955, to the union of Fred McCloud, Sr. and Bettie McCloud in Belhaven, NC.
Mikel received his formal education in the Beaufort County School System in Belhaven, NC.
At an early age Mikel joined St. James Church of Christ Disciples of Christ. He left home but upon returning he reunited with St. James becoming a faithful and willing member. He was honored to work with the church as the Church Steward while his health allowed.
Mikel enlisted into the United States Marines.
During his professional career, Mikel was employed with Johnson & Johnson. He also worked at The University Hospital in N.J. He worked for a while in Zebulon before returning home. In Washington where he was employed by Elks, now called River Trace. Mikel was also employed at National Spinning until his health failed.
Mikel was a skilled handyman who was talented enough to be able to work on almost anything.
Mikel leaves to cherish his memories: children, Mrs. Chenequa Jones (Clifton) of Chocowinity, NC and Mr. Mikel McCloud, Jr. (Jerri) of Greenville, NC; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; devoted sisters: Mrs. Annie Spencer the mother in kind of Belhaven, NC, Evangelist Clara Smith (Pastor Wilbert Smith) of Belhaven, NC, Mrs. Dorothy King (Gleen) of Belhaven, NC, and Miss Veretta McCloud of Belhaven, NC; brothers, Elder Jimmy McCloud (Gwendolyn) of Oriental and Minister Jeffery McCloud (Norma) of New Jersey; the mothers of children, Mrs. Lydia Freeman and Mrs. Jessie Little; he also leaves to mourn his memories his stepchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and his church family.
