Mr. Fred Archey Winley of Pantego, N.C. entered into eternal rest April 13, 2022.
On Wednesday, April 13, 2021, Fred Archey Winley closed his eyes and went to sleep at the age of 84, now resting in Jehovah’s memory and in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.
Fred was born to the late Reuben Winley and Mary Geathers Winley on December 17, 1937. Fred spent his formative years in Georgetown, South Carolina. He later moved to Brooklyn, New York with his mother. As a youth he was fascinated with building and flying model airplanes. He developed his interest in airplanes by joining the US Airforce. After his discharge from the military, he partnered with his father-in-law in their own automotive detailing business. The business was named Busy Bee with a focus of preparing used and new cars for sale in the many automobile dealers in Valley Stream New York. He later moved his family to North Carolina and established a home in Pantego. Fred was known to tell jokes. He enjoyed cooking and fishing. As a minister, he loved teaching people the bible.
Fred leaves to mourn, his wife Doris, sons, Raphael (Djidade) and Frederick Winley and daughters, Duanne Winley Dunk (Alton), Bridgett Winley Dozier (Ken) and Lisa Winley McKinnon (Charles); his grandchildren Jeanine, Sonjia, Robin, Maximillion, Ciara, Ariel, Cheryl Rose, Brittany, Charles, Golden and Isaiah; his great-grandchildren are Nicole, Jania, Danti, Ryan, Ashanti, Robert, Erin, Amirah, Kamron, Kairo, Cameron and Lauren Nina Simone. He was also blessed with a great-great grandson named Karon.
