Mr. Ernest “Peter Gun” Powell of Leggett, N.C. entered into eternal rest on September 14,2020.
Ernest L. Powell was born November 23, 1946, to the late Mary P. Whitehead and Charlie Telfer in Edgecombe County.
He departed his life on September 14, 2020, at Vidant Hospital in Tarboro, NC.
Ernest was affectionately known as “Peter Gun.” He attended Conetoe High School. Before retiring, he worked at Glenoit Mills in Tarboro and had a love for all sports.
He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Patricia Parker Riddick and one son, Ashawn Burston (NaKisha); Seven grandchildren, two sisters, Catherine Whitehead and Rachel Whitehead; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
