Mr. Douglas McCray Anderson of Farmville, N.C. entered into eternal rest on August 26,2021.
DOUGLAS McCRAY “DOUG” ANDERSON was born in Pitt County, North Carolina, on June 25, 1959, to the late Simon and Erma Dell Anderson. DOUGLAS spent his entire life in the Greenville-Farmville areas, living in Midgette-Anderson Field and then the majority of his adult life in Farmville, where he attended the Farmville Schools. As a youth, DOUGLAS’ passion was farming and this became his lifelong occupation.
DOUGLAS worked many years and was employed by Ed Mills Family Farms, Winterville, NC. As a farmer, DOUGLAS knew that to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven; a time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted---------a time to break down and a time to build up; a time to weep and a time to laugh a time to mourn and a time to dance----time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to get and a time to lose; a time to keep and a time to cast away a-----a time to keep silence and a time to speak; a time to love and a time to hate; a time of war and a time of peace.
DOUGLAS is preceded in death by his father, Simon Peter Anderson, Sr., his mother, Erma Dell Gay Anderson, his sister, Sarah Anderson, his brothers Bobby Harris and Randy Anderson; his grandson, Tiyon Williams, and Son-in-love Darion Hawkins.
DOUGLAS leaves to cherish his memories and to continue his legacy his fiancé of 32 years, Mavis "Freda" Hawkins, his children, Nick McCray Mosley and Tina Miranda Mosley, both of Grifton, NC; children in love Trondail Hawkins, Houston, TX; Lemando Hawkins, Chesapeake, VA; SheNay Hawkins (fiancé North) Wilson, NC; Akeem Hawkins (Dee) of the home; 14 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren his brothers Simon Peter Anderson, Jr., of Durham, NC; Kelvin (Donna) Anderson of Greenville, NC; Dennis Anderson of Greenville, NC; his sister Erma Anderson Armwood (Samuel) of Mt. Olive, NC; two Uncles: Bishop Robert J Gay Sr. (Ethel), Greenville, NC and Deacon David Gay, Sr. “Uncle Dave”, Greenville NC; three Aunts: Mollie Anderson and Christine A. Rountree (Bennie), and LaForest Anderson all of Greenville, NC; one Sister-in-law: Rosa “Kate” Condery Anderson; Brothers-in-love Gerald Edwards and Anthony Edwards (Tina) all of Greenville, NC; and Sister-in-Love Laverne Haddock (Kenneth) also of Greenville, NC; U and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
DOUGLAS was a strong, determined man who loved to help anyone that needed a helping hand. He will forever be missed by all who knew him.
