Mr. Derrick Lovell Pettaway of Greenville, N.C. entered into eternal rest September 30, 2021.

Derrick, son of the late Marrice Jones and Dorthy Pettaway, was born July 22, 1983, at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC. He entered eternal rest on September 30, 2021, at Vidant Medical Center.

Derrick received his formal education in the Pitt County School System. He graduated from North Pitt High School.

Derrick was currently employed with the company known as Bojangles. He was very dedicated to his job. He had a love for all people and never met a stranger.

Derrick leaves to cherish his memories: love of his life, Lakeisha Pettaway of the home; children, Tahziya Tyson and Shamiya Tyson of the home; mother, Dorthy Pettaway of Greenville, NC; sister, Teresa Pettaway of Greenville, NC; niece, Ashanti Wooten, nephews, Eric Wooten Jr., Raheem Everett, Rhazeqeal Everette, and RhaZerrion Everett; great niece, Eryiah Wooten; five aunts; six uncles; three special brothers, Jerome Melton, Samuel Melton (Shay), and Brodrick Melton; a host ofcousins, many more relatives and friends.
