Mother Dorothy Marie Jennette of Washington, N.C. passed on January 5, 2024, at her home.
Dorothy Marie Credle Jennette was born on April 15, 1932, to the union of Frank Credle, Sr. and Della Credle Hall in Hyde County, NC.
Dorothy Marie Jennette was united in holy matrimony with David Lee Jennette, Sr. in 1957 in Washington, NC. Their union was blessed with ten children.
Dorothy Jennette accepted Christ as her Savior in the Belhaven Community at the age of 30 and was united with St. James Disciples of Christ where she served as a faithful Choir Member.
She was employed by The Crab House as a crab picker, Southern Bank as a janitor, and Pungo Academy as a janitor. In her leisure, she enjoyed attending church, cooking, taking care of her kids, listening to gospel music, eating seafood, reading her Bible, and chewing tobacco when she could.
Mother Dorothy Jennette departed this life on January 5, 2024. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Clayton; father, Frank Credle, Sr.; mother, Della Credle Hall; brothers, Jerry Credle, Vivian Credle, Junior Credle, Sampson Credle, and Willie Credle; and sisters, Ivory Credle, and Edna Lee.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Monica Harris (Tommie), Debra O’Neal, Rose Moore, Kimberly Jordan, David Jennette Jr., and Calvin Jennette (Batman); 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; sibling, Rachel Banks; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
