Minister Gary Lane Cox of Belhaven, N.C. entered into eternal rest at his home on November 1,2020.
Minister Gary Lane Cox was born on May 23, 1967, to the union of Ben Cox III and the late Lillie Mae Murray Cox in Belhaven, North Carolina, and departed this life on November 1, 2020. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie M. Cox; a son Ronzell Fonville; and his brother, Corey Dell Cox.
Gary received his formal education in the Beaufort County School System and graduated from John A. Wilkinson High School in Belhaven, North Carolina.
Gary received Christ at an early age and became an active member of Mt. Olive Pentecostal Holiness Faith where he served as a Deacon, and most recently, as a Minister.
Gary married Deborah Ruth Phillips in June of 2010 in Belhaven, North Carolina, and they were blessed with two children.
Gary was employed by National Spinning where he held the position of Doffer in Department 30 and later relocated to New York where he became a Transit Bus Driver.
Gary enjoyed playing basketball, ministering to people and helping others in anyway that he could. He was a servant. He really loved spreading the Gospel – that was his passion.
Gary leaves to cherish his memories: his spouse, Deborah Ruth Cox of Winterville, N.C.; children: Dr. Rashad Holloway (Minnenne) of Baltimore, M.D., Antonio Bunn (Rebecca),Bryce Alexander Cox and Jada Sherae Cox, all of Greenville, N.C.; his father, Ben Cox III of Belhaven, N.C.; his sisters: Debbie Murray of Durham, N.C., Tamara Cox of Belhaven, N.C.; brothers: his twin, Terry Cox, Calvin Cox, and Ben Cox, Jr., all of Belhaven, N.C., Michael Cox (Janis) and Aaron Cox, all of Hampton, V.A.; his aunts: Hazel Murray, Mary Franks, VerlesiaSpencer (Johnny), Clinestine Jenkins (Kenneth), all of Belhaven, N.C.; his uncles: James L. Cox, Robert L. Cox (Develia), and Brady Cox, all of Belhaven; his great-aunt, Mrs. Goldring Satchel of Beaufort, N.C.; one brother-in-kind, Jerry Spencer of Belhaven, N.C.; a very devoted friend, Joe A. Midgette; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; his father-in-law, Bishop Melvin Phillips, Sr. (Delois); and two brothers-in-law, Elder Kevin Phillips and Melvin Phillips, Jr., all of Greenville, N.C.
