Ms. Lula Credle of Washington, N.C. entered into enteral rest on October 17, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.
Lula “Irene” Credle was born on October 7, 1933, to the union of the late James and Jane Credle in Belhaven, North Carolina. “Irene” received her formal education in the Beaufort County school system.
Irene accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Holly Grove Disciples of Christ and was affiliated with Mt. Hebron, until her health declined.
Irene worked as a laborer on the farm and was also a caretaker for her family. She was a servant just as Jesus said. He came to serve and not to be served. It takes an incredibly humble, loving, and giving person to stand in the gap for those who cannot take care of themselves or for those who need additional help.
Irene loved cooking and she loved to help people. That was her ministry and service to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She believed in putting her love in action, which we all should do.
She was preceded in death by her son, William Credle, and siblings, James, Johnny, Samuel, Elisha, Ronald, and Frances Credle Bell.
Irene leaves to cherish her memories: children, Lula (David), Melvin, Edith (Bryant), Rose (James), and Larry (Jackie); eighteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; twenty- one great-great-grandchildren; sibling, Robert Credle; sisters-in-law, Carolyn and Thelma Credle; devoted friends, Louette Satchell, Joyce Satchell, and Joyce Williams; a special cousin, Catherine Keech; and a host of other relatives and friends.
