Louise Hilda (Gunter) Speight

Louise “Hilda” Gunter Speight, 54 of Greenville, N.C. passed away June 20, 2024. 

Louise Hilda Gunter Speight was born on March 18, 1970, to the union of Roger Gunter and Florence Pittman Gunter in Pitt County, NC.

Louise accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with Bread of Life Gospel Tabernacle, Inc. where she served as a minister.

Louise Hilda Gunter was united in holy matrimony with James Speight on March 12, 1999, in Greenville, NC. Their union was blessed with two children.

Louise Hilda Gunter Speight departed this life on June 20, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Florence Gunter; three sisters, Della Mae Gunter- Tillery, Carolyn Moore, and Arlene Gunter Hill; four brothers, Linwood Gunter, Thurman Gunter, Joseph Gunter, and Calvin Gunter, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, James Speight; children, Byron T. Speight and Jakita S. (Pooh Bear) Speight; grandchildren, Zi’Kayla Speight, Ni’Asia Speight, and Jamanon Spencer; sisters, Vera Brown (Joe), Delois Dixon, Cynthia Gunter, Della Mae Mitchell, Ella Gunter; brothers, Roger Gunter, Jr. and Melvin Gunter (Juanita); one very special mother-in-law, Irene Speight; and a host of special nieces, nephews, and friends that became family.
