Mr. Linvert Spencer Jr. of Washington, N.C. entered into eternal rest on February 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
Linvert Spencer, Jr. was born on February 15, 1951 in Bath, NC to the union of the late Linvert and Iva Rae Spencer. He departed this life on February 28, 2023.
He attended Bath High School in Bath, NC and furthered his education at Beaufort County Community College in Washington, NC.
Linvert was united in holy matrimony to Gloria J. Moore on June 23, 1975 in Washington NC. To their union two children were born.
Linvert was employed by Charcoal Service Center as a Foreman for 20 years and retired in 2007. In his leisure time he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
Linvert Spencer, Jr. accepted Christ as his savior at St. Delight COC DOC at an early age and served there as Sunday School Superintendent and a Trustee. In July of 1986 he joined Mt. Sinai COC under the leader ship of Apostle Aaron McCarter, which later became Word of Life Worship Center. He preached his initial sermon on May 28, 1988. After years of serving under Pastor Aaron McCarter, he then rejoined St. Delight COC DOC. He served on the Council Board for the Washington and Norfolk District Assembly COC DOC International, Inc. He then became the Pastor of Union Chapel COC DOC in Roper, NC on June 18, 2011 where he served until October 4, 2011 until his health began to decline.
Linvert was proceeded in death by his parents; Linvert and Iva Rae Spencer. His brothers. Darrell Spencer and James Riddick and his sister, Wanda Fulcher.
Linvert leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Gloria J. Spencer of the home. His son; Lamont Cox (Alicia) of Greenville, NC and his daughters, Katrina Barrow ( Rodney) of Washington, NC and Traline Spencer of the home. His God Daughter Crystal Waters.
His grandchildren; Marcus Cox, Jazmine Cox, Josh Cox, Owen Spencer, Jamari Spencer, Rodney Barrow, Jr. and Melanie Waters.
Two sisters; Millie Spencer and Sharon Spencer of Concord, NC. Six brothers; Harry Spencer (Cassandra) of Union City, Ga., Alvin Spencer, West Virgina, Bernard Spencer of Bath, Reginald Spencer (Nicole) of Washington, NC, Raymond Spencer of Clearwater, Fl, and Melvin Fulcher (Brenda) of Chocowinity, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
