Laforrest Speight, the daughter of Irene Sims Speight and the late Booker T. Speight, Sr., was born on July 3, 1960, in Pitt County, North Carolina.

Laforrest was a woman of few words with a very private demeanor. However, she was very family oriented and loved family-time, especially loving on her nieces and nephews. In her leisure she enjoyed cherishing special moments by capturing each moment with a photo.

She will be fondly remembered by: her mother, Irene Sims Speight of the home; one sister, Patricia Sims of Wilson, NC; five brothers, Donnie Sims (Linda)of Wilson, NC, Booker T. Speight (Juanita) of Greenville, NC, Walter Speight (Mary) of Wilson, NC, Timothy Speight and Jame Speight (Hilda) both of Greenville, NC; one uncle, Daniel Sims of Temple Hill, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
