Ms. Kimberly Nicole Sherrod Barnes, 55, of Farmville, NC, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, in Greenville, NC.

Kimberly Nicole Barnes was born August 6, 1969, to Kay Sherrod-Gorham and Johnny Richard Gorham.
She graduated from D. H. Conley High School and later attended St. Augustine College and Lenior Community College where she became an Advance Nursing Assistant I and II. She also received a Med Tech Certification.
Kimberly was baptized in the early 1990s and renewed her salvation in 2024. Kimberly sung in the Warren Chapel Jr. Church Choir as a child. She was united in holy matrimony to Tony Curtis Barnes on January 13, 2017.
Kimberly has worked several jobs in the healthcare field to include Carolina House, A Plus Results Health Services, Pinnacle Home Care, and Oak Haven Assisted Living.
In her leisure time she enjoyed cookouts, cooking, being with family, working, and talking on the phone about work. When Kimberly’s was in good health, she enjoyed attending funerals.
Kimberly Nicole Barnes departed this life on January 27,2025 at ECU Medical Center. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Tony Curtis Barnes and her father Johnny Richard Gorham.
She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Jasmine Rochelle Pippen, Deshekia Michelle Pippen, and La’Risha M Williams; bonus children, Alliyah Harris, Antonio Barnes Roundtree, and David (Cooley) Pitt; three grandchildren, Ke’Asia Barrett, KayLynn Barrett, and Ke’Nilah Barrett; her mother, Kay Sherrod-Gorham; one sister, Ashley Sherrod-Tyson (Omar); two nephews, Jordan Daniels and Cameron Tyson; one niece, Caromen Tyson; two aunts, Shirley Sherrod and Deloris Sherrod; two uncles, Gene Sherrod and Willie Sherrod; special friends, Kimmerly Payton, Kechia Foreman, Jaleria Joyner, and Shamecia Sheppard; faithful cousins, Gwendolyn Sherrod, Micheal Sherrod and Tasha Sherrod; and host of other sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, relatives and friends.
