Mr. Joseph Briggs of Greenville, N.C. passed on December 18, 2023.
Joseph Ephraim Briggs, affectionally known as “Joe”, departed this earthly life on December 18, 2023, in Greenville, NC surrounded by his loving family.
Joseph Ephraim Briggs was born to the late Edna Snead Hubbard and Leroy Briggs on April 27, 1963 in Richmond, VA. Joseph was preceded in death by his three sisters, Rosemary Whitehurst, Lottie Dixon, and Shonda Hubbard, and his brother, Leroy Hubbard.
Joe was an alumnus of Rose High School Class of 1981. He joined the US Army and served in Korea before returning to Greenville, NC. He worked as an electrician until his health declined. Joe was also affectionally known as the “Timex Man” for all the times the doctors had given up on him and said he was not going to make it. So just as “Timex” took a licking and kept on ticking; so, did Joe for over 25 years according to the stories told. Joe met Theresa Harris in 1996 and later married her in 2006.
Left to cherish his memories are: his beloved wife of 17 years, Theresa Briggs of the home; one son, Joshua Jones (Tiffany)of Greenville, NC; two daughters, Kenya Harris of the home and Elder Kenita Willams (Pastor Kent) of Greenville, NC; one sister, Reverend Sylvia Teele of Greenville, NC; God sister, one Uncle, Joseph Pettus of Colorado Springs, CO; one Aunt, Bertha Gaye of Greenville, NC; one sister-in-law, Gloria Williams (Mack) of Newport News, VA five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
