Joel Scarborough Hardy accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was united with St. Matthew’s Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a choir member.
Joel Scarborough Hardy was united in holy matrimony with Lenoris Marie Hardy on June 7, 2013, in Greenville N.C.
Joel Scarborough Hardy enlisted into the United States Air Force on March 1979. He was honorably discharged in July 1984. In his leisure, he enjoyed basketball, Football, he was a Dallas Cowboys fan and Alabama State University fan.
Joel Scarborough Hardy departed this life on March 24, 2022, He was preceded in death by his Parents: James Earl Hardy and Willie Mae Willoughby; brother: Compton Mckenzie Willoughby.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Spouse: Lenoris Marie Hardy of the home; one daughter: Somers Hardy of Burlington, N.C.; One granddaughter: Meghan Hawkins of Rocky Mount, N.C. ; Two Sisters: Vickie Hardy Fenner of Greenville, N.C. and Kaye Francis White of Greenville, N.C.; One brother: Larry Darden of Farmville, N.C.; Three aunts: Lois Corbett of Farmville, N.C., Barbara Burney of Farmville, N.C. and Elois Williams of Connecticut; Three uncles: Levale Gorham, William Gorham both of Greenville, N.C. and Mark Gorham of Falkland, N.C.; Five sisters-in-law: Lorraine Cogdell (Lonnie), Canary Godley (Herbert), Lena Wooten (Earl), Elaine Morris, and Annette Perkins al of Greenville, N.C.; Four brother-in-law: Earl Smallwood (Marilyn) of New York, Eric Smallwood, John Hines, of Greenville, N.C .and Wayne Holly (Marketa) of Chesapeake, VA; Special friend: Larry Worthy of Winston Salem, N.C.; 1979 classmates: Wayne Baines and Dominique Barresi of Raleigh, N.C.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
