Mr. Joe Henry Hardy, Jr., 53, of Greenville, NC passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in Greenville, N.C.

Joe's Legacy

Joe Henry Hardy, Jr. was born on June 28, 1970, to Voncille Rudolph Hills and the late Joe Hardy, Sr. in Lake Placid, FL. He transitioned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. 

Joe was a graduate of Lake Placid High School. He later furthered his education at Pitt Community College in Winterville, NC majoring in Business Administration. He enlisted in the Navy and was honorably discharged in July 1989.

Joe accepted Christ as his Savior in July 1980 at the early age of 10 years old at Holy Communion Church. He later joined Corey’s Chapel where he served as a faithful usher. 

Joe was in Atlanta at Stone Crest Mall and ran into the love of his life, Ebony Harris. He ended up buying 15 pairs of shoes that day. They were later united in holy matrimony on Aug. 28, 2003. Their union was blessed with 4 children.

Joe was employed by Third Street Academy as the head cook and he loved cooking for the boys. In his spare time, you could find him enjoying his family, cooking, working on cars, reading his bible, traveling to sports events with his sons. He was even a coach and mentor with Jackie Robinson Baseball League.

Joe was preceded in death by one brother, Martinez Hardy; his grandmother, Arnell Rudolph; and three aunts, Fannie Mae Felton, Ernestine Dixon, Sadie Morris.

Joe leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Ebony Hardy of the home; three sons, DeParis Hardy, Josiah Hardy, and Justice Hardy all of the home; one daughter, Brianna Hardy of the home; his mother, Voncille Hills of Lake Placid, FL; two sisters, Priscilla Jenkins of Rex, GA and Demetria Hardy of Quincy, FL; six brothers, Patrick Jenkins of Atlanta, GA, Alvin Jenkins (Kristen) of Savannah, GA, Jonathan Jenkins (Gloria) of Grovetown, GA, Tyrone Hardy (Nancine), Dexter Hardy (Markesha), Selitheo Hardy all of Quincy, FL; and a host of other close relatives and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Heavenly Arms Family Mortuary & Cremation Services, 8482 E. Marlboro Road Suite G., Farmville, N.C.
