Mr. Jimmy Lee Ruffin Jr., 43, of Washington, NC, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024 in Washington, NC.

Jimmy Lee Ruffin, Jr. affectionally known as “JJ” was born October 29, 1980 to the union of Jimmy Lee Ruffin, Sr. and the late Patricia Anthony Ruffin in Washington, NC.

“JJ” attended Chocowinity High School, Chocowinity, NC.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing basketball, pool, and most of all being a comedian.  He was very outgoing and loved by many.  “JJ” always had the ability to make anyone smile.

He was previously employed with Albritton Detailing (Washington, NC), Backyard BBQ Pitt (Durham, NC), and Fountain Power Boats (Chocowinity, NC).

Jimmy Lee Ruffin, Jr. departed this life on March 29, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Anthony Ruffin; brother, Adrian Williams; grandparents James Earl Ruffin, and Ben and Mildred Anthony

He leaves to cherish the memory his children, Rashod Ja’Shon Ruffin, Christopher Ruffin, Janika Ruffin, Shahiem Ruffin, Jace Ruffin, and Alice Deloach; a special friend, Crystal Knight; grandchildren, Ryan Ruffin, Kailee Ruffin, Lerenzo Ruffin, Journi Beacham Dunlap, and Romeo Beacham Dunlap; Father, Jimmy Lee Ruffin, Sr.; brothers and sisters, Maurice Simmons (EuGenie), Melvin Simmons (Fabian), and Darren Anthony (Keisha); grandparents, Rosa Lee Norfleet (John Boy); one great aunt, Mildred Gardner; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, a great nephew, a great niece, cousins, and close friends.
