Mr. Grover Lee Martin, 74, affectionally known as "Giddy Up" of Tarboro, NC, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at his home.

Grover Lee Martin, affectionally known as “Giddy Up”, transitioned from this earthly home to his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Giddy Up was born in Tarboro, North Carolina on March 31,1950 to the late Joe and Ardena Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one son, Grover Earl Jenkins “Pete”; three brothers, Randolph, James “Bud”, and William; and five sisters, Mae, Kate, Irene, Louise, and Joyce.

Grover attended Edgecombe County Public Schools in Tarboro, North Carolina.  He was united in holy matrimony to Pamela Martin on August 18, 1989, and their union was blessed with 8 children. Grover and Pamela shared 35 wonderful years of marriage.

Grover was last employed by Nomaco as a machine operator. In his leisure, Giddy Up, enjoyed watching Westerns, spending time with his grandchildren, who could do no wrong in his eyes, and cheering on the Washington Redskins, his favorite football team.  

Grover leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Pamela Martin of the home; his children, Michael Jenkins of Rocky Mount, NC, Jena Fredrick of Woodside, NY, Tiara Ward of Conetoe, NC, Tyishia Martin of Princeville, NC, Christy Trimble (Brian) of Quakertown, PA, Kiana Martin of Tarboro, NC and Travis Martin of the home; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Thomas of Princeville, NC and Barbra Bishop of Tarboro,NC; and a host of nieces, nephews,other relatives and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Heavenly Arms Family Mortuary & Cremation Services, 201 Water Street Tarboro, NC .
