Elena Smith Staton received her formal education at Paraiso High School in Paraiso Canal Zone

Elena Smith Staton rededicated Christ as her Savior several years ago at Koinonia Christian Center.

Elena provided assistance as Spanish Translator and Interpreter, and she was employed as a factory worker that assembled baby attire.

While growing up in Panama, Elena enjoyed participating in beauty pageants and modeling.  In her leisure she enjoyed dancing (pachanga), music, Lifetime movies, watching the news, church, eating soul food, taking pictures, helping others learn Spanish, laughing at jokes, motivating others, enjoying a good movie while eating popcorn, being around family and friends, and celebrating holidays and birthdays. Elena loved to make everyone feel like they were special; you were her beautiful queen or handsome king.

Elena Smith Staton departed this life on (Date) September 27, 2023. She was preceded in death by Albert Smith (father), Greythels Louise Clarke (mother), Adolphus Clarke (brother) and Arthur Smith (brother)

She leaves to cherish her memory: Spouse, Curtis Staton; Children, Anthino “Tony” de Worthington, Tamara Smith Cherry (Bobby), Zulena Staton, Roxxanne Staton-Joyner (Demarris Sr.) and Jermaine Jackson; Grandchildren, Antwon Worthington, Travon Worthington, Tamashee Smith, Amelia Joyner, and Demarris Joyner Jr.; Great Grandchildren, Travon Worthington Jr. and Aa’Miyah Worthington; Sisters & Brothers, Rose Waithe, Leticia Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Gloria Parris (Leslie James), Ana Zanders, Rogelio “Eddie” Smith (Kay); Other Family Roselind Cratch and host of cousins, nephews and nieces.
