Mr. Dupree Moore of Brooklyn, NY formerly of Blounts Creek, N.C. entered into eternal rest on April 30, 2023.
Dupree Lindell Moore was born on January 8, 1948. He moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1966 in pursuit of a better life. He soon met the lady of his life Rose Moore, and they were married for 53 years. He graduated from Snowden High School in North Carolina in 1966.
Dupree Lindell Moore grew up Baptist. He attended his home church of Ware Creek Missionary Baptist Church since childhood and would often attend when he returned home to North Carolina. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Dupree and Rose Marie were united in marriage on January 10, 1969, in Brooklyn, New York. Their Union was blessed with three children. Dupree Lindell Moore enlisted into the United States Army on January 19, 1968, and was honorably discharged on January 14, 1971. He was employed by Brooks Brothers as a Retail Stocker for over 18 years from which he retired.
Dupree had a diverse work history and left a mark on several industries including healthcare, banking, and retail. In his leisure, he enjoyed spending time with his family, dancing where no one could spin like him, listening to music, debating, playing cards, and enjoying the warm weather. Dupree Lindell Moore departed this life on April 30, 2023.
He was preceded in death by: one child, Baby Moore; his parents, Roosevelt and Melvina Moore; siblings, Madelyn Wright, Erma Lee Moore, Wilhelmina Lewis, Sina Brown, Theodore Roosevelt Moore, Alfonzna (Helen) Moore, and Carl Moore.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his spouse: Rose Marie Moore; children, Jeffrey Dupree Johnson, Ericka Moore-Bass (John) Deshannon Dupree Moore (Sonobya); grandchildren, Kandice Moore(Ivory), Keosha Davis(Lonnie), Kiahnna Steele, Jefftina Johnson, Deshannon Dupree Moore Jr., Nakeya Johnson, Na’Kiya Johnson, and Madison Moore; great and great grandhildren: Ivory Moore( Dayna), Anija, Alex, Jaiyah, Ja’Leigha, Kameron, Kaliyah, Kennedi, Kimora and Kingston; Siblings: Edd Moore (Rita), Lorraine Minor, Della Tetterton (Darnell), Juattee Rogers, Lloyd Moore(Darlene), Diane Tetterton, (Jessie), Edmond J. Moore (Pam); mother-in-law: Mable Graham, sister and Brotherin- laws: Ruthie Kinney, Maple Brown (Charles), Julia Brown (John), Willie Grham (Barbara), James Moultrie, Ronald Henegan (Bernice), Rosa Henegan, Roosevelt Henegan; a host of nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends whom he loved dearly; Dupree also shared a special relationship with Renee, Roxanne, Timothy, Monique, Krista, Jermaine, Troy, Hassan, Rashiem, Ijana, Tammy (Solomon), Nicky and Larry.
