Della Mae Doughlin

Ms. Della Doughlin of Scranton, N.C. entered into eternal rest on December 1, 2022, surrounded by family. 

Mrs. Della Mae Doughlin was born on February 28, 1939, in Hyde County, N.C. the daughter of the late Edward and Pearl Davis.

Della was educated in the public school of Hyde County, later moved to New York City to work as a child caretaker.

Some of the things Della admired to do; She loved taking care of children, playing Bingo and also attending church at Mt. Pilgrim Church of Christ until her health declined.

In 1959, Della was joined in holy matrimony to Grandville Rogers in that union three children were born. He preceded her in death. She later married Franklin Doughlin who also preceded her in death.

Della was preceded in death by six brothers: Willie Lee Davis, Edward Davis Jr., James, John, Victor, and Fred Davis.

Della loved her three children dearly and leaves to cherish her precious memories: 1 Daughter: Loretta Senatus(Louis);2 Sons: Larry D. Rogers (Diane) and Kelvin Rogers (Karen);

Della leaves her wonderful four sisters to cherish her precious memories: Ella Babbitt, Mary Coats, Lovie Miller of Scranton Pearline Dupree (Kelvin) of Greensboro, N.C.; Two loving brothers: James L. Davis (Arish) and Herbert Davis (Diane)

Della leaves her memorable and cherishable memories of her Seven grandchildren: Kelvin Rogers, Jr., Deland Senatus (Krystle), Tiana Senatus, Deanna Rogers, Damaris Rogers, Monica McNeal and Darnell Baptiste.

Della leaves her legacy to carry on to her five great-grandchildren: Isaiah Senatus, Arielle Senatus, DaeAnna Johnson, Davante Johnson, Jy’aire Hernandez and Hay’siah Rogers, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
