Ms. Debra Ann Mackey of Washington, N.C. entered into eternal rest on April 3, 2022.

Debra Ann Mackey was born on October 12, 1953, to the union of James Otto Mackey and Mary Elizabeth Mackey in Belhaven, N.C.

Debra Ann Mackey received her formal education at John A. Wilkinson High School in Belhaven, N.C. She furthered her education at Beaufort Community College in Washington, N.C.

Debra Ann Mackey accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with St. James Church of Christ.

Debra Ann Mackey was employed by Britthaven Nursing Home as a Nurse for several years. In her leisure, she enjoyed cooking, singing, and enjoying family and friends. Debra loved getting the family together and making them smile.

Debra Ann Mackey departed this life on April 3, 2022. She was preceded by her mother: Mary Elizabeth Mackey; father: William Otto Mackey; Sisters: Hattie Ruth Mackey, Jean Mackey, and Geraldine Mackey; Brothers: Kelvin Kent Mackey, Henry “Dump” Mackey, and Benny Mackey.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Children: Adrian Mackey, Javon Slade, Lavar Slade, and Tawanna Slade; Grandchildren: Quanleau Riddick, Kadesia Mackey, Tavon Slade, Ky’Juan Moore, Dontavious Andujar, Nydia Andujar, Javon Slade Jr., Laquez Slade, Raeyonna Moore, Zaniyan “Sky” Slade; Six great grandchildren; Brother: James Mackey Sr.; Special Friends: Cynthia Qualls, Gretta Hines, “ Byran Napier”; HER BODY GUARD DOG: B.J. Mackey; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
