Annie Carol (Lanier) McWayne

Ms. Annie Carol McWayne of Bath, NC entered into rest on October 26, 2023, at Autmunfield of Belhaven Assisting Living. 

Annie Carol Lanier McWayne was born on November 29, 1941, to the union of Christobell Satterwaite Lanier and Preston Lanier in Bath, North Carolina. Annie McWayne received her formal education at Belhaven High School in Belhaven, North Carolina.

She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with St. Delight Disciples of Christ in Bath, North Carolina. Annie Carol Lanier was united in holy matrimony with Fred McWayne in 1965 in Brooklyn, New York. Their union was blessed with three children. She was employed by Chase Manhattan Bank in New York as a banker and retired in 1982. In her leisure, she enjoyed singing, spending time with her family, and traveling.

Annie Carol Lanier McWayne departed this life on October 26, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father, Preston Lanier; mother, Christobell Lanier; and sister, Velma Satterthwaite.

She leaves to cherish her memory: children, Angela McWayne, Karen McWayne, and Adrienne Spencer; grandchildren, Christopher Lanier McWayne of Berlin, Germany, Jeremy Peele of Greenville, NC, Kandes Peele of Greenville, NC, Khole and Krystal Bailey of Raleigh, NC; great- grandchildren, Jahmere, Jayden, Eviane, and Shiloh; sibling, Lenora Preston Lanier Leggett (Redden Leggett) of Bath, NC; special nephew, Dwayne Lanier; and a host of other relatives and friends.
