Annie Beatrice Keel

Ms. Annie B. Keel, affectionally known as "Goose", 81, of Tarboro, NC, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. 

Annie Beatrice Hopkins was born June 9, 1942, to the union of A.J. Wooten and Annie Hopkins in Conetoe, NC.

Annie received her formal education in the Edgecombe County School Systems in Conetoe, NC. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with Weeping Mary Baptist Church where she served on the mother board.

Annie B. Hopkins was united in holy matrimony with Donald Keel in Robersonville, NC. She was employed by Purdue as a line worker for many years. In her leisure, she enjoyed talking, cooking, gardening, flowers, gospel music, gospel shows, reading her Bible, and her church.

Annie B. Hopkins Keel (Goose) departed this life on Monday January 22, 2024 at 1:48pm.  She was preceded in death by mother, Annie Hopkins; father, A.J. Wooten; son, Joseph Hopkins husband, Donald Keel; brothers, Jadie Hopkins and Jesse Anderson Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Sammy Hopkins Sr. (Carlina) of Whitakers, NC; daughter, Sylvia Speights of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Sammy Hopkins, Jr. (Endrea) of Fort Meade, MD; Raymone Hopkins of Whitakers, NC, Veronica Cannady, Kenneth Horton, Kentrell Horton all of Whitakers, NC; great grandchildren, Kortni Hopkins, Kiersten Hopkins of Fort Meade, MD, Shyon Gary of Whitakers, NC, Kayla Manning of Whitakers, NC, and Jamauri Cannady of Whitakers, NC; sister, Martha Downing of Rocky Mount, NC; special sister/cousin, Shirley Mays of Princeville, NC; aunt, Clara Ampley of Wilson, NC and Laura Hopkins of Conetoe, NC; niece, Barbara Hopkins of Tarboro, NC; nephew, James Hopkins of Tarboro, NC; and a host of other family and friends.
