Albert Leonard Turnage Jr. was born on August 5, 1945 to the union Albert Leonard Turnage Sr. and Christine Harris in Washington, N.C.

Albert Turnage Jr. received his formal education at P.S. Jones High School in Washington, N.C.  He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was united with St. Luke Church of Christ.

Albert Turnage Jr. was employed by Beaufort Builders as a painter and has always been self-employed. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing, spending time with family.

Albert Leonard Turnage Jr. departed this life on January 4, 2023. He was preceded by: Parents: Albert Turnage Sr. and Christine Harris; Brother: Robert Harris and William Turnage Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Wife: Peggy Carlene Turnage; Children: Michael Riddick, Cipporah (Kavin) Harris, Quanetta Michelle Bryant (Lamont), Jannell Brown (Ken), Kenya Smaw (Kyale), Nikki Miles (Chique), Jennifer Smaw, Sandra Coppedge (Robert), Patricia Perkins (Timothy), and Michael Ward; Twenty-Seven grandchildren, Six great grandchildren; Sister and Brothers: Earnestine Winfield, Deborah Turnage, Marvin Turnage (Joella), Edmond (Carleen), Oscar Turnage (Sharon); Two Sister in Law: Lula Harris and Rosa Turnage; Uncles: Samuel Harris( Sylvia), Bill Harris(Candy); Aunts: Mary Ebbs and Thelma Tucker; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
